Cemetery Symbolism In-Person
Oakland Cemetery is rich in examples of symbolism in its tombstones. We will examine the symbols and their meanings and seek to understand how Victorian Americans dealt with ever present issues of death.
Oakland Cemetery & Memorial Park is a municipal cemetery located just south of Perkins Avenue on Milan Road. (2917 Milan Rd, Sandusky, OH 44870)
As this is a walking tour, wear appropriate shoes and outerwear and be prepared to stand or walk for at least an hour.
