Lunch and Learn: Black Men in Blue: The Civil War, Ohioans, and the 27th United States Colored Troops In-Person

Dr. Mezurek will discuss how Ohioans reacted to the enlistment of African American troops, the Ohio Black community’s response to the national conflict, and the impact of their service. The focus of the presentation is on the 5th and 27th USCT, the two Black regiments raised in the state, with special attention given to the greater Sandusky area soldiers and veterans.
