Book Discussion: The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison In-Person
Celebrate Ohio's Toni Morrison Day with us as we read one of her most influential works and first published novel, The Bluest Eye. As the first African-American woman to with the Nobel Prize in Literature, Morrison illuminated the black woman's experience throughout her work. Her story about Pecola Breedlove, set in her native town of Lorain, Ohio, bravely explores the traumatic life experiences of the abused child who receives little support to find her own strength from the outside world. Learn more about the author and her local roots during this book discussion.
Books are available at the Sandusky Library, on Hoopla, and in Libby/Overdrive.
